Towa International, committed for the past two years to its Be Genuine Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program, has focused its efforts in the areas of Gender, Disability and Generational Gap.
As part of its action plan, and in the framework of International LGTBIQA+ Pride Day, the company organized a social experiment inspired by one conducted by Danish television in 2017. This initiative involved the voluntary participation of 50 people from various areas of the company. The experiment consisted in that, through several questions, people who naturally were next to those who shared more affinity or functions were discovering commonalities and dismantling many of the biases, stereotypes and prejudices they had. The exercise counted with the participation of Roger Julià, actor and theater director, who formulated the questions.
The bold and different dynamic was designed to demonstrate that what brings people together most are shared emotions, experiences, decisions and fears. This approach allowed participants to connect on a deeper level, beyond their individual differences, positions or roles, reinforcing Towa International’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
As Meritxell Ferraté, Chief People and Culture Officer, says, «Through the Be Genuine program, we seek to promote an environment of health and safety, in which equal opportunities and mutual respect are fundamental, thus creating a work environment where everyone at Towa feels valued and can develop their potential to the fullest from their authenticity. Each person has unique talents, and it is essential to create an inclusive and diverse environment where they can develop them to their full potential».
